Kid Lit Blog Hop #47

Welcome back to the Kid Lit Blog Hop #47

Today, I don't have a review for you, so I thought I would share 6 impossible things before breakfast....

  1. Frankie Dupont was accepted for a Book Bub promo, so it will be going free on October 16-20 on Amazon.

For anyone who doesn't know what a Book Bub promo is. Book bub is a free and discounted book site. They have over 2 million subscribers, so if you want to get your book selling and ranking, many people do Book Bub promo's. It's extremely hard to be accepted for a promo, so I think that is an achievement in itself.

2. Book 3 "Stellarcadia" in my Caramel Cardamom series has been edited and is now ready for the painstaking task of proofing and formatting.

3. Frankie Dupont And The Lemon Festival Fiasco ( Book 2) first draft is down. I am doing a thorough review to get it ship shape and ready to face my beta readers.

4. I have hired another illustrator to do Stellacadia's Cover. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. Stay tuned for a cover reveal hopefully in November with a release early December.

5. On November 1, I will be joining with 12 other Authors and Illustrators for Inside Story.  Check out the promo I managed to put together.  Thank you Cool Mom, ( Aka StanleyNKatrina's tec guru) for introducing me to http://www.picmonkey.com/

Even a luddite like me can use it!

6. I recently completed a 4 week picture book course, with Jodell Saddler. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it. I learned so much and I hope one day to get my picture books noticed by a publisher.

That's all folks. What are your six impossible things, share them with me in the comments!

Happy Hopping everyone and enjoy the Hop!

  2. Congratulations on being selected for Bookbub! Fantastic, Julie.
Wow, a new cover artist. I know that wasn't an easy decision.
Fantastic job with picmonkey! Go, Julie. :)
    Hmmm... six?
    1) Felicia was interviewed by a local paper for her upcoming book signing.
    2) She is excited to be included in a movie premier for a local production company - wonderfully talented kids who produce stellar (smile) movies.
    3) The fact that I am actually almost keeping up this month with all of her S&K projects.
    4) I walked 5 miles with friends, yesterday - parents need playdates, too.
    5) We have a cat!
    6) The awesome guests we have lined up for Word of the Week videos.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

  3. Wow, Julie. Have you discovered how to make time stand still? It seems like you have, or you've mastered no sleep. You've been a busy lass!!

    6 impossible things from me...
    1. Releasing the paperback of TIME SQUARE | UFO
    2. Finally making the final accommodation booking for our USA holiday
    3. Training (cough cough) and raising money with my daughter for the Big Walk for Children's Cancer which is in November
    4. Reaching the first anniversary since our daughter's diagnosis soon, and she's still in remission .. yay!
    5. Reaching the 20% mark for draft 1 of The Missing Link (Quest 4)
    6. Staying calm as we all plan which American junk food we'll binge on when we are there (Cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, bizarre Oreo flavours, churros ..... mmmmm)

  4. Love the 6 Impossible Things Before Breakfast post!! So great that you were selected for a Bookbub. That picturebook course sounds fantastic--I might have to look into that. I am working on a picturebook text at the moment, along with some other writing projects, so would love to get into something like that. Thanks for sharing!
