GUTGAA Meet and Greet Questions.
If you are following along, you will know that I am participating in Gearing Up To Get An Agent. An awesome initiative by the lovely Deanna Barnhart. So here we go...
-Where do you write?: On our kitchen table
-Quick. Go to your writing space, sit down and look to your left. What is the first thing you see?
GIGILAND, explanation, the space we have created for our divine miss Gigi to play in.
-Favorite time to write? Early in the morning, around lunch and after dinner, lol
-Drink of choice while writing? Chai latte oh yeah
-When writing , do you listen to music or do you need complete silence? I usually have one or all of the following, Music, Tv, baby mumbling, baby crying, husband asking questions and not getting answers......
-What was your inspiration for your latest manuscript and where did you find it?
Driving down the street in our old neighbourhood, I turned into VESPER street.
I love coffee so I found a last name for my character by the starbucks cup sizing guide VENTI.
I also work for a virtual reality medical gaming console company as their nurse adviser, so that sparked the idea of VESPER VENTI'S VIRTUAL REALITY
-What's your most valuable writing tip?
When editing, read your manuscript out aloud. I was told that by the very wise and talented Val Taylor, an English writer who I had my first manuscript reviewed by.
Just to let you know a little about me, at present I am stay at home mum with a nerdy sci fi addiction. Yes I own a tardis. I am also a registered with a serious cupcake habit.
I am hoping for an agent one day but I am not content to wait forever , so I have had a fabulous cover designed by an animator friend and I am going to self publish very soon.
So stay tuned for a cover reveal and good luck with your pitches.
Oh finally I am an Aussie, so Gidday. . Yes we really say that lol
See you all in the blogging hallways,
Julie Anne Grasso

Greetings!
ReplyDeleteI am hopping over from GUTGAA and visiting some blogs before the fun begins! Nice to meet you...you have a lovely blog!

G'day back at you Julie! I'm super jealous you live in Melbourne - I've been trying to convince The Boy to move there for years.
ReplyDeleteAnd you own a TARDIS? Many of my friends are dying inside right now, but I'm sorry to say I've never seen a Doctor Who episode. And yes, I am well aware this is a disgrace.
Hey, now. I'm also in GUTGAA. Read your bio and now all I want is a Chai latte. Thanks a lot. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is VERY cool that you work for a gaming console company. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely excited for the cover reveal! And ha, when my husband asks me questions when I write I yell at him that I'm in the zone and he leaves the room with his tail tucked between his legs... ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the self publishing. I write on my kitchen table too!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Good luck with your self-publishing venture. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, nice to meet you! I think it's awesome you live in Australia. I've wanted to visit there ever since I did a report on koalas in 6th grade. I'm a marsupial fan. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so lucky you know someone who can design your cover! Thanks for coming to our blog!
ReplyDeleteThat Gigi is adorable! You, too :0) Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteGreetings fellow cupcake addict! I enjoy reading about where you got your inspiration. 'Vesper' is like, the coolest word, ever, no? Kudos to you on your self-publishing endeavors!
ReplyDeleteGidday to you, too! Wow, second chai-obsessed author I've met in GUTGAA. Love the "Gigiland" comment, haha. My entire house is the land of my kids, haha. :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWell, good luck finding that agent, and if not, good luck with self publishing. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, and good luck with self publishing!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that advice so many times. And while I've done that with queries and synopsis, I have yet to do it with my MS. I guess I'm too lazy... haha.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you!
Oh, places can be great inspiration. A street name even, wow that's cool. I've read chunks of my MS outloud and it does help. One of my crit groups we have to read aloud first and then group critique.
ReplyDeleteHere's my GUTGAA Meet & Greet post: A Girl and her Diary
Thanks for visiting my blog, Julie! I'd love to have my own Tardis, too--where'd you get yours? Way to go, going the self-publishing route. If I get up the nerve, I may follow suit.
ReplyDeletetake it easy! (the Yank version of gidday)
Leslie
Ummm, I love Vesper for a first name. Also, can I steal a ride in your Tardis? :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm stopping by from GUTGAA! And oh man, i LURVE Chai lattes! I wish i had one right now...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your self-publishing journey! And now you've got me thinking of chai lattes. Thanks. ;) See you around GUTGAA!
ReplyDeleteI love Vesper Venti's Virtual Reality! That is such a cool title and I can only imagine what a cool story it is! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun book. :)
ReplyDelete-Liana
My daughter made a tardis. It really is bigger on the inside. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the most specific job description I've ever heard. Love it! Thanks for stopping by Beyond The Hourglass Bridge. :)
ReplyDeleteKat
Hello from GIFTS land and thanks so much for your kind words on my pitch. Even with my lovely writing space I do still write at the kitchen table often. Great to meet you and I can't wait to see that cover!
ReplyDeleteP;eased to meet you and happy GUTGAA!
